Splinter stood proudly with cane in hand before his kneeling sons. For a moment he said nothing, as he looked at each son and saw them young again. The many candles illuminating their dojo flicked swirls of orange in the iris' of the old rat’s black eyes as he blinked the memory away. Taking a deep breath, he nodded to himself, this was right. He was at peace.

"What do you want?” he glared at her as she remained cloaked in the shadows of a support beam.
“You hate me,” she said, a statement rather than a question.
“I feel nothing. Hatred or otherwise toward you,” he replied evenly.
“It is what I expected.”
“What you expected?” he scoffed unable to keep the childish sarcasm from his voice. He hated the way her presence unlaced his well practiced control. “You were the one who said we were fated to be enemies, that our duty to our fathers was unsurmountable.”

This is a story of renewal and redemption. Of how I was finally made whole and worthy again. But of course, every story of renewal must be preceded by one of being broken, shattered and useless. So I will tell you that story first.
It begins with my Master. Everything begins with him. He is a Master warrior and over the years it has been his hand that has guided me. I desire nothing more than to bring him honor, to protect him and all he holds dear. I have always been clear in this, unwavering in my sole purpose and yet when I was needed most...I failed. I failed him and it is because of my weakness that Michelangelo was seriously injured.
I was on a rooftop running when someone called.
There was silence and suspicion as the line just stalled.
And then a voice familiar, and yet completely unknown,
Whispered, “I have your family,” and I nearly dropped the phone.
“Who is this? How’d you get this number?” I demanded.
And the voice just laughed, “Don’t worry, I’ll be quite candid.
You have one choice and that’s to do exactly as I say,
Or your brothers and father are the next victims I’ll slay.”
“You’re a liar. No one could know where my family is found.”
“Oh, so you think its a secret,

Fathers, Brothers and Sons
Raph couldn’t stop the smirk that slid across his beak as he shook the bamboo cup in his hand and slammed it upside down in the dirt, rattling the die inside.
Eyeing his opponent wryly, he said nothing letting the tension build.
“What are you doing?” a familiar voice called from across the courtyard causing Raph’s smirk to harden slightly.
Raphael didn’t answer his brother but did take a quick sideways glance to see a scowling Leonardo approaching with their younger brothers in tow.
“Raph, I said what are you doing?” Leo repeated.
“What does it look like I’m doing?” Raph answere
12:40am. He checked the time on his t-phone, again. They were late. Maybe they weren’t coming this time. Maybe this was all finally over. The thought soothed as much as scared Don as he paced a dank alley in a broken down and mostly abandoned section of the city. Maybe he could find another way. Maybe this was his chance to break the deal, to get out. His mind raced with the possibilities, analyzing and agonizing over all the options for the millionth time. There was only one option though and he already knew it. Because it was either this betrayal of everything he believed in or a vial and unfathomable alternative for which he would

Thank You Watchers Ficlet
I have very few watchers compared to some, but this only serves to heighten how much I truly appreciate each and every one. Thank you sincerely for your support, for each favorite and comment, it is the stuff that keeps me going in this community.
I am going to assume that the majority of my watchers were attracted to something in my TMNT fanfiction since that is almost exclusively what is in my gallery. Since the challenge here is to thank one's watchers with a deviation, I offer this little ficlet as a token of my appreciation. I hope you enjoy and again, thanks!

Summary: Don performs a difficult task.
Warning: Character Death.
There are probably a lot of things you take for granted, being human. Lots of things you don’t even appreciate or notice, because they’re just always there when you need them. But I notice. I’ve always been acutely aware of what it really means to be human…or rather, not human. Aware of all the luxuries one learns to go without when you are a mutant.
When I was a kid, it was school. I know, I know, who wants school? But believe it or not I actually used to fantasize about having homework and joining the debate team and entering the science fair. Now
Raphael stood outside his brother’s bedroom door with his hand around the handle. It was his turn to try and he paused a few moments to steady himself and make a game plan before entering. He closed his eyes and remembered how angry and lost Leo had looked when he had tried last week, and how deflated Mikey had been since his attempt yesterday. Raph wasn’t sure he could do any better, but he had to try. The longer this persisted the more it twisted and warped his whole family and he couldn’t let that go on. You can do this, patient and optimistic, Raph thought, taking a deep breath. Forcing the corners of his beak upward i
